A. I love creative writing

A. I have been at the CYC for 20 years now

A. I love the people, staff and patients and also love that it is close by to where I live

A. I love going to the theatre and cinema

A. I joined the service in 2003
Q. What do you like about working here?
A. We have a wonderfully interesting and diverse group of patients. I also love the staff team

A. I love cycling at the weekends
Catherine Cosgrove

A. Since 2015
Q. What do you like about working here?
A. I love the holistic care that we give and the amazing progress that has been made in the lives of people living with HIV
Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of work/What’s a fun fact about you?
A. Cold water swimming - especially the sea, but the Lido is a great second choice. It makes me tingle and feel so alive, but I have to be careful to time myself, so I don't become totally delirious and hypothermic!

A. I love the friendly environment of CYC and enjoy the autonomy of my role

A. Outside of work, I am a real foodie and always thinking about what I’m going to make next!

A. I first came to the service in 1991 and have been in and out since, I trained as a nurse here before joining the team

A. The best thing about my job is getting to know patients, who are resourceful, resilient and inspiring

A. I love taking my dog on walks and having a friendly chat on the way

Q. What do you like about working here?
A. I love working in a supportive team and love the patients here - being able to journey with them through life’s events is a pleasure and privilege

A. In my spare time, I am in a pop choir, which sings contemporary hits.

A. I love that it is a close-knit team and love patient interaction

A. I love going to live shows for music and comedy

A. I came to work here in 1993, fresh from qualifying
Q. What do you like about working here?
A. I think this is great team to be in. It’s great to be working somewhere that recognises the value of my training and knowledge
Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of work/What’s a fun fact about you?
A. Outside of work I am often to be found dressed in sequins on the dance floor as I am a same-sex competition ballroom dancer

Q. What do you like about working here?
A. I really enjoy my role and being part of a supportive and caring team. It’s a privilege to be part of a patients’ journey.
Q. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

A. I joined the team here in 2005 and have a special interest in sexual health as well as working with adolescents living with HIV
Q. What do you like about working here?
A. I really enjoy working with a supportive and diverse team. I am also lucky to work in lots of different settings including, Queen Mary’s Hospital, prison services and sexual health services
Q. What do you enjoy doing outside of work/What’s a fun fact about you?
A. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and our lockdown puppy

A. I love problem-solving for patients and the team camaraderie at CYC is unparalleled

A. A special skill I have is being able to drive a JCB

A. I love the staff team here and really love getting to know service users one at a time

A. I used to be a belly dancing teacher

Lisa Hamzah

Q. When did you join the team?
A. I’ve been a consultant at the Courtyard Clinic since 2019, but did work here as a junior doctor many years ago! I have a specialist interest in kidneys and the impact of HIV and HIV medications, multidisciplinary teaching and training and lead the HIV research programme
Q. What do you like about working here?
A. It is genuinely a real privilege to work at this clinic with all the wonderful people that attend here and among a brilliant team that always strive to give the best possible care

A. Outside of work, I love going on bike-packing adventures with my family

A. I started at the CYC as a receptionist in 2007 and intended to stay for a year!

A. I really enjoy the detail of my work, it suits my methodical nature. I also love the team here

A. I love working in a department where my skill set is so valued by staff and patients

A. Me and my partner stay in a different hotel every single weekend just for fun. This weekend, we have found one that we can take our cat too!

A. The best thing about my role is the wide variety of people (both colleagues and patients) that I often interact with on any given day, followed closely by providing a much-needed service to the patients

A. I love building relationships with patients, it’s definitely the best bit of my job

A. I have been practising mindfulness for some time and a type of Tibetan meditation called Dzogchen really works for me

A. The best bit about my job is the amazingly caring, supportive and connected staff team, some days don’t feel like work because we are having so much fun along the way!

A. Outside of work, I love spending time with my little dog, any time with her is a good time had!
